About the organisation
Bridewell Gardens is a mental health charity based in Oxfordshire, providing a therapeutic environment for adults recovering from mental illness. Through structured horticultural activities, the charity helps individuals regain confidence, develop skills, and take steps toward returning to work and everyday life.

The challenge
Bridewell Gardens needed a new website that effectively communicated their mission and engaged three key audiences: service users, volunteers, and fundraisers. Their existing online presence did not fully reflect the charity’s ethos or provide an intuitive user experience. They required a platform that was easy to navigate, accessible, and visually aligned with their work in nature and recovery.

The approach
AppCentric worked closely with the charity’s Director and Fundraising & Communications Officer to gain a deep understanding of their values, goals, and audience needs. The project focused on:
- Enhancing and expanding the charity’s branding to create a cohesive and welcoming online identity.
- Designing a user-friendly website with clear pathways for service users, volunteers, and fundraisers.
- Structuring content in a way that felt calm, informative, and accessible to all visitors.
Built on the Umbraco CMS, the website allows the charity to manage content easily while ensuring a seamless experience for users.

The outcome
The new website provides a clear, engaging, and supportive platform for all visitors. It effectively conveys Bridewell Gardens’ mission, making it easier for service users to access information, volunteers to get involved, and fundraisers to support the charity.
AppCentric continues to provide ongoing support, ensuring the website remains up to date and evolves with the charity’s needs.
